Well, I've found my serial problem. It appears that DEC is using
some extremely creative numbering for the pins on the IDC connector.
It appears that the one with the little arrow pointing to it is
not pin one, as I naively expected. Nor are the pins in sequence,
Here's what I've figured out so far:

	  - x x x 10
	> 6 2 - x x

The two with the minus signs are giving me negative voltage, so I
expect that those are pins 4 and 7, but I don't know which is which
yet.

If anyone has a chart that converts between DEC's interesting
numbering scheme and the real world (e.g., something that makes
the chart in the OEM manual for this board match reality) I'd
appreciate it.
