I'm running 1.2 and I just added a 2nd swap partition last weekend.

I don't recall having rebuild config.
My line is something like (from carbon-based non-edc memory):
root on sd2a swap on sd2b and sd1b
pstat -s now reports that swap is interleaved. (yea! something actually
worked!)

My config directory under smm is empty. :-(
I looked in my old 4.3 BSD manual (red), the syntax there seems
to work, at least for what I did.
I also commented out a bunch of hardware that doesn't exist on my UDB,
between a smaller kernel and interleaved swap, compiles run a bit faster.
Oddly, emacs starts up slower, and freezes the mouse cursor on
my X terminal awhile, but only if I call it through a shell alias that
specifies geometry and font. Calling emacs directly works as expected.
Bizzare.
