I have a newly bought Multia (VX40L-E2) with the same problem. I installed
the 970801 snapshot and the 970423 toolchain and compiled a 970810 kernel.
My system has 80M of memory and uses a serial console. The kernel
configuration file can be seen at http://home2.inet.tele.dk/soren/MULTIA .

I have tried upgrading the 3.8-2 SRM to to the interim 3.8-3 . I would like
to try the experimental version that has been mentioned here. If someone
here has it, I would like a copy.

Michael, did you get your system to work with a new kernel?
