I just installed 1.3 on my Alphastation 255, and I'm getting problems with
tar's 'z' option.  Whenever I extract files, I get the following error:

gzip: stdout: Broken pipe
tar: child returned status 1

...but the extract seems (at least the few times I've let it complete) to
be OK.  Have I done something wrong in the setup?  It's fairly generic, and
I didn't have this problem under 1.3_ALPHA.  This is a clean install of
1.3.  (that is, I completely wiped the drive and installed using a boot
floppy)

ideas?
