to get autoboot, you set the variable auto_action

set auto_action restart

(to get a multiuser boot, you set

set boot_osflags -A     
    ( OSF1 compatible, so blame them)

PS: to get to the console again, you have to type  ^c in the ´right´
moment, around the time the bootmessages appear. with mine, a 233MHZ
one, I alway have to have some tries.
