Hi folks...
For those of you running -current who would like to try out the new
virtual memory system, I have implemented the necessary changes and
committed them to the source tree. Your SUP tomorrow should pick them
up.
PLEASE NOTE! You'll need some changes to sys/uvm which are not in the
tree just yet. I have informed Chuck Cranor (the UVM author) that the
changes in question do work, and he should be committing those shortly
(he wanted to tidy them up a bit first).
To use it, you need to:
(a) Add "options UVM" to you kernel config file, rerun config,
make clean, make depend, and make. Then boot the resulting
kernel.
(b) Put "UVM=yes" in your /etc/mk.conf file, and then do a
"make build" in /usr/src to build a userland compatible
with UVM. This affects kmem-using programs.
If you have any problems, please send a bug report with send-pr(1) and
I'll look at it as quickly as possible.
