After successfully booting from a floppy and untarring most of the
distribution for the snapshot of 1998-04-20, I was greeted with the
following when I tried to boot from the hard disk:
.
.
vga0 at isa0 port 0xffffffff-0x664
wscons0 at vga0: console
vga1 at isa0 port 0xffffffff-0x664
panic: wsconsmatch: multiple consoles?
And the rest is history.... :-{(
I'm running an AXPpci33 (noname), 32mb of ram, and I've tried this with
two different isa vga cards (a trident and a Diamond speedstar pro) with
the same results.
Is this a known problem, or do I have a hardware incompatability?
I don't suspect hardware, since the boot floppy (also 1.3E) works on
both of the vga cards.
Any ideas for a fix????
TIA
Stan
