Back in April, Jack reported that he saw the resistor packs develop
shorts between adjacent pins. You can test for this with an Ohmmeter.
(power off!) The 4.7K packs look like:

	| | | | | | | | |
	| | | | | | | | |
	| / / / / / / / /
	| \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \
	| / / / / / / / /
	| \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \
	| / / / / / / / /
	| \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \
	| | | | | | | | |
	| | | | | | | | |
	+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+
	| | | | | | | | |
	| | | | | | | | |
	/ / / / / / / / /
	\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \
	/ / / / / / / / /
	\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \
	/ / / / / / / / /
	\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \
	| | | | | | | | |
	| | | | | | | | |
    pin 1

The little square in the corner marks pin 1.

I don't recall how many pins the packs have, but the common
connection is the highest pin number, opposite pin 1.
You should measure about 4.7 K Ohms from the common pin
to any other pin. If you get a reading more like 2.3 K,
check for a short between adjacent pins.

The other resistor packs appear to be like:

	| | | | | | | | |
	| | | | | | | | |
	/ / / / / / / / /
	\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \
	/ / / / / / / / /
	\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \
	/ / / / / / / / /
	\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \
	| | | | | | | | |
	| | | | | | | | |
    pin 1

where each resistor is about 39-40 Ohms.

I have one pin on one pack that measures 3.19K rather than 4.7K.
Other than that my resistor packs seem fine.
