Okay, riddle me this one:

I can't type a pipe to the console on my alpha.  (PC164).

* It works fine with a directly connected keyboard.
* It works fine once the system is booted.
* If I'm using a keyboard connected through a switchbox, and the system
  hasn't booted, it doesn't work.

Thus, I can't "show | more", so I can't remember how to set the machine to
autoboot.
