After some positive results of configuring & running NetBSD on a
developmental DEC-alpha 500/333, I've decided to install it on the
production machine which is a 1000A 5/300RM. I followed the same
procedures for both i.e. booting through the Install Floppies and
installing via FTP

However, the installation failed (halted) during the 2nd disk (Disk2of2)
with the following message on the SRM console:

"panic: no pci_display_console on 0/0/0"

and I'm dumped back to prompt.
I've upgraded my SRM and AlphaBIOS Firmware but with the same results.
Anyone encountered/solved this before?

My search through the various discussion/mailing list of alpha and
netBSD came to only one such posting way back in March '99 to which he
had the same set of errors. No replies to date.

Hope I have better luck.
