Okay... I tried to reproduce this on my systems, and could not.
Specifically I tried the built-in '810 on my AlphaStation 200,
and it worked fine. An '825 plugged into my AlphaStation 500 also
worked fine.
I looked and looked, trying to find what could have made that happen
for you, and couldn't come up with anything. I had made some changes
to make the NCR driver work on big-endian systems, but those of course
would not have affected the Alpha :-)
Anyhow, thanks for the follow-up. Sorry about the glitch. (That NCR
driver needs to be shot from a cannon.)
