When you say CDROM image file, do you mean an ISO image file?  or are
you refering to the cdhdtape?  I think I may be confused.

I would like to eventually be able to make alpha bootable netbsd cd's
that contain the latest distribution (binary).

Ah, ok, I don't have access to any alpha systems at the moment, but I
will
see if I can find the man page.
