FWIMBW...I have *never* seen that convention used when labeling
resistors with readable digits.  The equivalent is used with the
three-band color code scheme, but AFAI have seen that's it.

Good advice.  While I do have some electronics experience, I'm by no
means conversant with every convention out there. :-)
