Aha!  So is this a Tekram DC-390F on an AlphaStation 200?  I am wondering
if some some reason mine is not fully compatible or something?

Also the fact that SRM recognizes it and I boot from it would not have
any impact would it?  SRM seems to think it is a fast/narrow controller,
could it be that SRM 'sets' it as fast and somehow the kernel driver is
not able to set it up to ultra?

I am going to browse the driver source and see if there is an obvious way
to maybe force ultra?  Any thoughts on this?
