Hi all:
I have something of a sorry saga to tell about installing NetBSD 1.5.1
on my 3000/400 turbochannel machine.
I have dd'ed a turbochannel console install kernel onto a disk, which
boots fine. I got the kernel from
http://www-personal.monash.edu.au/~barnesm/dec/ .
Then, I go through the process of installing via NFS (I have only
downloaded 1.5.1 - still have to get 1.5.2). I get all the way through
the install process, until it goes to set the timezone, when I get a
segfault, and the message is 'run out of space on /'. However, it then
boots into a normal console (single-user), and there's only 50MB used
out of 128MB on that partition. Then I get into a merry-go-round of
being able to boot into single-user mode, but not being able to do much
else.
I'd really like to be able to get past this little hurdle - if anyone
has any ideas, I'd be most grateful to hear them.
Cheers,
Matt van de Werken.
