Hello Eric,
Just a followup on this problem. I found the cause and it was somewhat my
fault (surprised you, did I?). I was using the secondary serial port,
which works fine for serial console in SRM, fooling me into thinking the
problem was with the installation. When I switched to the primary serial
port, everything is fine.
