hello, 
while trying to use a turbochannel ethernet card (it doesnt matter what
machine i use it in, a 3000/400, 600, or a 300), i get tons of messages
about 'register did not settle' and then ultimately configuring the 
interface fails. This has been a problem in 1.3, 1.4, _and_ 1.5. I've tried
every pmad-aa that i've got (several of them) on several different machines,
and always had the same result. a couple other folks have reported this 
problem to the list over the past couple years, but the reply i saw the 
last time was that it shouldnt happen.. Do i just have a big pile of 
ethernet cards all of which are hosed, or is there some problem 
supporting extra lance's that are directly on the turbochannel as 
opposed to hung off of the ioasic?
