What I do for kernel builds is put $TOOLDIR/bin in my path, then

	nbconfig <normal options here>
	cd <compile-directory>
	nbmake-<machine>

and you should have a kernel.

As to getting the normal /usr/bin/cc up to -current, the proper
procedure is to build a release with build.sh.  This should all be
documented in the BUILDING file at the top level.  Playing around
with "build.sh .... -n" should give you enough rope if you want to
hang yourself :-)
