Could it be the card is putting out a sync signal that the monitor doesn't
handle? 
Is the setting still "console graphics" ??
What model is the card? I have a TGA2 (ZXLp-E3) which stops my 600au from
even posting! But you're saying you're getting a graphics console :\
Apparently the newer Miata SRM doesn't particularly like TGA's.. it's
looking for a VGA card. Maybe this is the issue?

Yes, really strange.

``console graphics'' was the setting when I first got the machine.

So with that setting it didn't work... :/
