I run my CS20 as a stand-alone machine.  It mostly does CPU churning.
In other words, I don't do NFS (server or client) on it.  I've not
experienced any problems related to local disk I/O, although I don't
press it too hard on that front.

OK, then those potential(?) problems should not be hitting you.

When I take a closer look (temporarily online...) I actually run 1.6J
on my CS20, Oct 29 2002 vintage.
