Why does it work for me? Do I have a different setup,
or is it fixed in 1.6_STABLE too?
If it is, it's possible to try daily netbsd-1-6 snapsots:

ftp://releng.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-1-6/...../alpha/alpha/

Those will probably be more stable.
