OK. You need to compile a TCWSCONS kernel to use local rasterconsole
and X11.

It is written on the back of the card. Somthing like "PMAGB-BA"
Some DEC3k models have graphics build in, this is allways PMAGB-B / sfb.

Type at the SRM prompt:
show config
("sh conf" works also.)
You should post the output of this command and / or /var/run/dmesg.boot
to the list, if you have questions about speciffic devices.

There is only one TC ethernet card: PMAD-A :-)
Maybe you have some other card like FDDI or ATM that loks like
Ethernet at the first glance.

9600 8n1 is a de facto standard. I have seen a lot of Unix machines and
console was every time 9600 BAUD, mostly 8n1, sometimes 7e1. Maybe
only some real old machines like PDP-11 or PDP-8 use different settings.
(Although my PDP-11/73 uses 9600 8n1 too. But this machine is quite young
with its 15 years.)
