xf86MapVidMem: Could not mmap framebuffer (Bad file descriptor)

Hi,
Any one try XFree86 on 6.0_BETA2?
I get 'xf86MapVidMem: Could not mmap framebuffer (Bad file descriptor)'
with a custom kernel allowing X to run, and with 'options insecure'?
an older 5.99.33 kernel works fine. any other options changed i should
know about effecting X?
