Yes, the SATA controllers are supported and the latest -current
(development branch of the source code) has DMA support.

Which parts exactly?  The NetBSD guide http://www.netbsd.org/guide/en/
is a good place to start for information on NetBSD itself.

I think Richard Rauch's suggestion of trying out the NetBSD Live! CD
is excellent and would give you an opportunity to test more of your
hardware as well.  If you have a cheap USB ethernet adapater handy
that would be a good way to get basic network connectivity while
testing it out.

This list is good for AMD64 related questions, otherwise
netbsd-help@netbsd.org is better for general NetBSD questions.  I
recommend reading through the guide first, or at least doing a quick
skim for content to make sure you question isn't already well
documented.
