I've installed NetBSD/amd64 (built from sources CVS-updated on 21 
June 2007) on a Dell Precision 490; its dmesg's output is appended to 
this email.  The x11/kdebase3 package has been installed using the 
2007Q2 pkgsrc, but I guess that's irrelevant at the moment.  I've 
found running 'xinit' or 'startx' reboots the machine.

I don't know how to begin troubleshooting.  Could someone offer advice please?
