xconsole issues

% This NetBSD-amiga specific problem because it works fine with NetBSD-i386.

I'm running Xconsole without any problems myself. However, since I use
xdm, I run it when xdm starts up the X server. If I remember correctly,
I had to make the xconsole program a setuid root binary.
%
% xterm -geometry 80x9+0+0 -font 6x13bold -title xconsole -e tail -f /var/log/me

This would let you see the messages, but it won't prevent the screen from
getting currupted when syslogd prints stuff to the console.
If you don't want to run a setuid xconsole, then you can just edit
/etc/syslog.conf and modify the line that causes certain messages to get
sent to /dev/console.
