Yeah... Frankly, I am not sure if this would be the way to go. AFAIR usually
it's done while unmounting. Once the filesystem is not umounted in a proper
way (e.g. a crash or whatever), it remains !clean. Thus making it clean
after every write probably would strongly affect this mechanism.

Haven't you had mcp in your AmigaOS? ;-) Those are quite commont symptoms in
such cases...
Seriously - I recall using it (1.5b AFAIR) quite heavily for some time with
NO single prob beside the need to fsck (which was always painless) every
time I booted into NetBSD after using BFFS to write something into the NBSD
partitions.
Oh yes, I recall having some probs with the fs links (don't remember now
what were the symptoms and what side caused that) but none with plain
files.
