I don't know that much about AP, but
briefly, on cp, there's:
 - no pci (cp = "compact" :-)
 - integrated peripherals, some of which
are located on core module's fpga
  - 2 serial uart
  - ethernet lan91c111
  - 2 ps/2's (kbd, mouse)
  - mmc interface slot (digital camera memory)
  - tft port for lcd
  - touchscreen controller
  - ac97 codec (2 ch)
  - two alpha segment led's
  - 4 led's

On 926 module, there's:
  - a fat fpga
   - mmc interface
   - codec interface
   - uart peripherals
   - keyborad/mouse peripheral
   - touch screen peripheral
   - lcd controller
   - buses and yadda yadda
  - 16-256mb sdram

For specifics other than this, search for
hbi-086 (part # of cp) and hbi-0087 (926 module)
on google. I dunno how much info is
public.

The bootloader is arm standard.
