This appears to have broken on or around Aug 22 2006, because
that was the last time my local release build dropped srec & bin
files in that port's release directory.

Further inspection reveals that distrib/common/Makefile.mdset
revision 1.28 is to blame.

This patch fixed it for me, I just committed it:
