I see no obvious error here.
FWIW, IIRC the last time I've used this was with the "standard" config 
line, i.e. without a special "root on md0a" (etc).

I assume you know how to resolve the "error = 22"
=> grep 22 usr/include/sys/errno.h
(for whatever that will tell you...)
