I don't know but it's a good question since I just got a PocketC.H.I.P. 
recently to play my Pico-8 games on. Running NetBSD on the PocketC.H.I.P. 
would be a lot of fun.

I'm not sure about the internals, but the unit's hardware lines are very 
well documented. I was plesantly surprised at that. It reminds me of the 
days when you'd buy electronics or computer hardware and you actually got 
access to technical information (often schematics even!) required to do 
more with it than just consumerism stuff it came with. The top of my 
PocketCHIP still has silkscreened headers for I/O pins.

Oh, and they look cool, too.

I remember an incident in which one of my (much) younger brothers thought 
I'd stole technical documentation from Commodore when he saw Amiga 3000 
schematics on my desk. He didn't realize that sort of thing used to be 
legal before the DCMA and other bright ideas took hold.
