Never tried, but the standard method is to configure the bootmode
with the regular bootloader.
Add the line
program_usb_boot_mode=1
to config.txt and boot. This will irreversibly enable USB boot and
you should remove that line once it is configured.
You can verify the OTP bits with 'vcgencmd otp_dump' from the
raspberrypi-userland tools.
