Hi,

* my favorite screenmode under RiscOS is the following:

# 1152 x 896 (82Hz)
startmode
mode_name:1152 x 896
x_res:1152
y_res:896
pixel_rate:120000
h_timings:92,134,8,1152,106,90
v_timings:3,28,0,896,0,1
sync_pol:0
endmode

It works perfectly fine under RiscOS, but as soon as I try it under
RiscBSD, my monitor can't sync the screen. I have even the impression
that the system hangs when I try to start X with this mode. Any hint?

* another problem occurs with ppp: it seems impossible to transfer
files (ftp or http) from my machine to another one via PPP - the
transfer simply hangs after the first 1000-1500 bytes, while other
connections (e.g. telnet) stay alive! Is this the known
ibuf-overflow-problem?

* BTW, how can I allow FTP-connections to my machine? I commented out
`root' in /etc/ftpusers, but root still is refused :(

* I still have trouble with xterm: it seems that it often doesn't
recognize the switch-reverse-off-code, i.e. if I use `less' (or
emacs,...) to view a file, all following text in the shell is
displayed inverse, too, until I do a `full reset' of the xterm. This
problem occurs even if I use less on a remote machine (HPUX).

Thanks,
Jochen
