  I seem to recall a while back, people noting that the SCSI bus would 
hang if there was nothing on it (Your CD drive is SCSI right?) or if 
there was something funny with the termination (Even if it worked under 
RiscOS).  Maybe if you play with your card setup (the internal 
termination setting is unchaged from the way RiscOS leaves it) you might 
get further.
