I have written a generic MIDI driver with support for the SoundPool MO4
output expander. If there should be intrest in it, or in the generic driver
part, I can contribute it to the kernelteam. Because it is very unlikely that
someone (including me) needs it ATM, I didn't contribute it yet. Anyway, the
driver is working ...

Wouldn't it better to make such rarely needed drivers as LKMs ?

Apropos drivers: Am I the only one who is still waiting for the audio device
driver. It's really curious: that much happend on the RBSD front, but
nothing happend to the audio driver !!!
