I've recently reinstalled NetBSD with the latest snapshots. When the
kernel starts up, occasionally I get the usbd daemon complaining about
something being missing or something. I would tell you precisely what it
is complaining about but I can't reproduce the 'feature' (mainly 'cos it
doesn't happen all the time). Looking at the man page, it seems to be
something to do with the Universal Serial Bus that all those lovely PCs
come with nowadays. I commented out the lines to load the daemon in
/etc/rc - does it matter that it doesn't load the daemon in?
Also kernel-related, but far less important, when it starts up the
screen doesn't clear and I get the colour bars at the top of the screen
and when the kernel is trying to find ADFS harddiscs (on the internal
connector) I get a 5 by 2 character mini-freakout. It doesn't cause any
problems but is there any reason why it happens (it may be useful to
mention that I use a Simtec IDE i/face).
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers,
tim
PS Does the Xarm server support deep colour modes yet (ie 16,
32bpp)? If so, how do I use 'em?
