Hi,
I supped all the latest sources, rebuilt config, edited the new RISCPC config
file and (ran config on it) and successfully compiled an UVM kernel.
Unfortunately, when trying to boot, it only gets as far as:
[reads bootloader argstring and recognises memory areas - all OK]
initarm: Primary bootstrap ... done
initarm: Secondary bootstrap ... mapping ...
And then nothing.
The above procedure has always worked for me in the past and the only thing
different in my config is the inclusion of filecorefs. I assume filecorefs works
okay or I would have seen some correspondence in the lists.
I did not rebuild libc before the compile, as that appears to be in a state of
flux ATM and I thought that the correct way to upgrade was first to compile and
install a -current kernel.
Is there anything that I have forgotten to do, bearing in mind that my present
system is 1.3.2 userland with a non-UVM 1.3E kernel - e.g. should I rebuild any
libraries or make tools or possibly 'make includes' in /usr/src? Or is this a
symptom of the problems being mentioned in the current-users list and should I
therefore wait?
TIA
Dave
P.S. I have since tried a Mach-VM compile and that fails to boot in the same
way.
