Lest anyone get the wrong impression:

I am not planning to gut the ARM FP library -- although I see nothing wrong
with using #defines to offer a statically-linked 'screamer' library.

That way, standard programs get the robust behavior, and anyone who wishes
risky speed can just link differently.
