To continue this thread:
- Thomas Gerner did built the base & server sets for X11/NetBSD-1.4.2 but
since he does not have 1.4.2 installed, the executables are not usable
on 1.4.2 because 1.4.2 ships with libc.so.12.40, while the executables
are linked with libc.so.12.49 :-(
- I would have the same problem, so I cannot build these sets either.
- According to Thomas, the CHANGELOG mostly mention fixes to drivers we
don't support. There are some minor fixes to xterm and other progs...
- The 1.4.1 Xsets should work with 1.4.2
Considering the above, I think I will just add a readme file to the 1.4.2
distribution that there is no NetBSD/Atari-1.4.2 X-distribution and
that people are advised to use the X-distribution shipped with 1.4.2.
Installing the generic m68k-1.4.2 X-sets combined with the xbase & xserver
sets from NetBSD/Atari-1.4.1 would probably work too.
I will move the 2 xsets build by Thomas to the Atari snapshot area. I will
mail the changes to the snapshot area separately.
Leo.
