Expensive KVM or at least V cables definitely make a big difference. $50 for
a set instead of <$20. This is more related to my experience driving an 18"
LCD monitor from a PC, than Dreamcast related. I do run the Dreamcast
through the Sega VGA adapator through a KVM with expensive cables to a 5
five year old 17" Mag CRT and it works fine. Some of my video cards (TNT1)
were unusable through the KVM to 18" LCD though, and the ones that worked
(i810, some Matrox), the quality was a bit off. Switching to expensive
cables or skipping the KVM made it all good.

It's odd that high quality video cable alone is $65, but that the KVM set
with the high quality video cable is only $50.
