No, the Linux kernel is GPL with kernel modules being exempt from 
GPL-requirements.  

GPL does NOT allow dynamic linking with closed source programs, contrary 
to popular belief.  Glibc and a lot of other stuff is LGPL (Lesser or 
Library GPL).  LGPL does allow dynamic linking w/ closed source code.  

Linux is somewhat more strict, being GPL but with the module exemption.
