I bought my DC on 2001-08-03 in Japan. And the print on the card
board package says "MIL CD can not be used." (which means one can't
boot from CD-R).
But I can boot from CD-R (Linux DC is ok, but I couldn't boot
netbsd-dreamcast yet.) with my unit. I guess, a wild wild guess, my
DC is a MIL CD bootable unit and the package doesn't match the unit.
