I've had this defined for the last six months.  Xorg will not produce
a core dump unless run directly as "root" ('Xorg' being SUID is not
enough).  I discovered this by accident just now.  GDB doesn't recognize
the resulting "Xorg.core" file as a valid core file.

Attempting to run directly under 'gdb' exposes an internal error in
'gdb':
