...that is correct... only LANCEs are on hp300s.

Hmm... I'd like to, but I'm missing the entire original context... I'll
search through my mail folder; it's probably buried under there somewhere.
So, from my /var/log/messages on my hp380:
Jan 22 01:58:34 basalt rbootd[160]: restarted (le0)
Jan 22 01:58:34 basalt rbootd[160]: bpf: can't add mcast addr
(Invalid argument), setting promiscuous mode
The reason you get that message is because rbootd _shouldn't_ be
attempting that ioctl; it's not meant for userlevel code.
As for the arplookup problems... not really sure... I'll have to defer
that to someone more familiar with that code than I am...
