port-hp300: Howto put 1.2.1 onto disks from OpenBSD current?

I took the 1.2.1 ditribution , got the uboot.lif from the 970315 snapshot
spreaded this onto two filesystems 
adapted fstab, myname and mygate and gave it a try.

The kernel looads but hangs then after
'Changing root device to sd0a'.
