Hi folks...

Ever since the hp300 port went to new-config, people have occasionally
reported occasional errors related to ppoll timing problems.

Based on some recent experience with the mac68k port, I think I have
a fix for this.  But I can't test it myself...

If you were experiencing this problem, please let me know if you are
willing to test a source patch (should apply equally well to 1.4
as to -current).

(I'd also appreciate any testers willing to see if I broke anything else,
since I can't test that at the moment, either :-)
