Hmm, same results as with the standard 1.4.2 bootloader. Ok, maybe this even
could be a hardware defect, i got this board 8-10 years ago for nearly free,
just for the 68040, and i'm still experimenting. It doesn't work with more
than 2 modules, it has it's home in the enclosure of a 710 at the moment,
but it may be broken, so this might be the problem. DOMAIN mode gives stuff
on the serial console (port 1), everything looks ok, but i don't have access
to a HP-UX for it to check the board.

I used the same setup i used for my 345 to install, except for the new booter.
It gets the booter, but it just blanks the screen and hangs. No output on the
serial console, and no hartbeat LED after waiting some minutes.

As no heartbeat flashes, i don't think the kernel gets booted.

Ok, maybe someone else with a 425e should verify this, if it works there, my
board is really ready for trash, otherwise, i'll look into the kernel/booter
sources to find out more.
