hm, i do have a SS20MP here as my NetBSD/sparc -current tracker, but
it's not quiet. i had a TurboSPARC SS5 before that and this was as loud
as my SS20. maybe one can change the fans to more quiet ones with equal
airflow (CFM), but i didn't do that 'til now.

maybe the SS4 is different from SS5 and SS20 -- IIRC it has a (much)
weaker PSU than SS5/SS20 and thus generating less noise (less things to
cool in it). my SS20 blows a very nice amount of heat out of it's left
side (tho not as much as an Indigo2 with MaxImpact -- that's my number
one on heat dissipation ;).

yes, i agree. those machines are very nice, especially the 712 IMHO :)
