  I think they use Command-#.  I think Win-# would be a good choice for
hpcmips, since I believe all hpcs with keyboards have win keys.  But, I
think for macs it is done in kernel, while it should be done in the MD X
code for hpcmips.

  Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to finish this yet and I will be
away for about two weeks (possibly a little less) with no net access. If
no one does it before then, I will do it first thing when I get back.
