fyi:

- continuing my escapades with the Z50 and NetBSD 1.5.1... went over to
a friend's house this weekend... he's running a wireless network
served up by a static-IP Telocity DSL setup, with a feed to a
  NetGear access point...

- he uses a variety of wireless NICs, including D-Link's DWL-650
(which IIRC, is a Prism2-based card?)...

- anyway, i was puttering on the Z50 and decided to try the D-Link
PC card... so i yanked the card out of his laptop, inserted it
  into the Z50, and:

the card was recognized as wi0... i then did a:

  # ifconfig wi0 192.168.123.89 up
  # route add default 192.168.123.200

- Bingo! the connection was made, and i was browsing, newsreading and
doing email wirelessly! the first line assigned the IP address, while
the second line pointed to the NetGear AP... i already had
/etc/resolv.conf filled out with my ISP's nameserver entries ...

very nice, folks!
